As many of you know, if there is a dollar to be saved, I will find it.
I have recently been looking into couponing apps that do not require me to print the physical coupon (ain’t nobody got time for that). Finally, I found Ibotta. This app has paid out of $200 million in cash back to its users. Whoa.
I downloaded that puppy and in less than two weeks I got $20.63 in my account (but who’s counting?). Directly underneath the piles of money I’m earning, it has a button that says “withdraw cash”. You have multiple options on how to get your moolah. You can use PayPal, Venmo, or get it in the form of a gift card. This is the real deal.
I know what you are thinking. “I bet it takes a lot of time or it’s annoying and/or confusing.” No. No. No. The format is overwhelming for the first 20 minutes or so when you download the app but after that, it takes me less than three minute to find coupons, snap a pic of my receipt, and magically find dollar bills in my pocket (it feels like that, I promise).
Here’s the run down on the website:
- When you download the app, put your store preferences in. I put the stores that I use the most (Walmart, Target, and Amazon). This isn’t binding. You will be able to add stores later, too.
- The home screen is busy but it’s easy once you understand what each symbol means:
-
- Bell (top left hand corner)- This is your notifications button just like on Facebook and Instagram. It tells you updates on all of the money you’re making for couponing. If you click on “Teammates” in the top right hand corner (once you clicked on your notification button), you can also see the money your friends are saving!
-
- Magnifying Glass (top right hand corner of home page)- This is where you can type in the name of a store or a product. They even have obscure stores like the military exchange or even Joann’s. This can help you see if there are coupons for very specific products or even random places you’re shopping at.
-
-
- FYI: Joann’s has 15% cash back on all in-store purchases just for uploading your receipt. That makes me want to drive to Joann’s right now (is that just me?).
-
-
-
- “Find Offers” (bottom left hand corner of home screen)- This essentially is the same function as the other magnifying glass
-
-
- “Recommended Retailers” (line of stores in the middle of the home screen)- Your most popular stores will be here. Click on them when you are going to shop there and it will show you all of the coupons available in that store. I recommend glancing at this before you go to Walmart or Target so you know where the deals on. For example, they may have a sale on Starbucks iced coffee jugs but not on Dunkin Donuts ice coffee so it’s good to be aware.
-
- “My Offers” (bottom right hand corner)- This is all of the coupons you put in your “cart”. I use this as a little reminder spot. When I have free time, I will browse the coupons at my favorite store and click the check mark beside them to add them to “My Offers”. Then, when I run to Target I know exactly what relevant coupons they have that I’m interested in without having to rummage through every one of their coupons on kitty litter and toothpaste!
-
- “Account” (bottom right hand corner)- This is where you find all of the money you earn for taking 3 minutes to upload your receipt. You’re welcome!
I’m not joking, this is so worth it. I even got my family into this app because they have so many coupons. Plus, getting money handed to me for clicking on a few coupons and uploading my receipts is a pretty good deal in my eyes.
Public service announcement: There are tons of coupons on alcohol. Never buy alcohol without looking for coupons on this app. Also, even if there aren’t coupons for anything you bought, check out the “any brand” coupons which will pretty much always give you $0.25-$0.50 just for uploading your receipt!
If you want to use my referral code, you can! If not, that’s fine too. I’m just glad you are saving money (and hopefully saving up for your next trip to Puerto Rico). Check out my authenticity promise in the drop down menu in the top left if you think I am only recommending this app to make money. My promise to you is that I will NEVER promote a product I do not love with my entire heart (even if they offer me money)!!

Congrats on officially becoming an extreme couponer (without the plastic baggies full of coupons, paper cuts, and holding up the line at Walmart).
XOXO,
Kay
